Both books follow on from Rules for Beginners. The Player's Manual contains descriptions of new abilities and skills for players at levels 6-24. The Storyteller's Manual is a guide to your imagination. In it, you'll find guides for creating memorable world locations, detailed character backgrounds, or tips for making your party's travels through the landscape more enjoyable. Among other things, it includes dozens of fearsome monsters and unique items that bring new challenges and surprises to the story.
