Peasant levies are recruited from villages and towns, small settlements that lie outside the towering walls of Cathayan grand cities. These provincial troops are not as well-equipped as the professional armies of the empire, favouring simple weapons such as spears and bows, but they are far more numerous and no less well organised in battle.
Crane guns are long barrelled firearms, often carried by two Nan-Gau soldiers, and fixed to a tower shield for greater accuracy. Used in large numbers, these guns can be utterly devastating. Meanwhile, the iron hail gun is a heavy blunderbuss with a large bore, which causes mass destruction at short range.
Commissar Sebastian Yarrick inspires the common soldiery as few champions of the Imperium are able. He can also tear through his enemies, delivering thunderous blows with his trophy power klaw, mowing them down with his storm bolter, and delivering laser blasts from his ocular augmetic, the so-called Bale Eye.
Commissar Graves and her retinue demand absolute loyalty and devotion to duty. They're cold-eyed killers, always ready to execute soldiers for any perceived failing. Riding to battle atop her modified Centaur RSV,Vigilance, Graves readily intercepts and countermands orders she considers cowardly, while acting as a figurehead of fear and inspiration.
On Armageddon, the Season of Fire has passed, and the Imperium has begun a new campaign against the Orkoid scourge. Yet, unbeknownst to the hive world's military leaders, a greater threat approaches – the return of Ghazghkull Thraka. In the planet's darkest hour, a legendary commander thought lost has returned – Commissar Yarrick lives! Perhaps, with his inspirational leadership, Armageddon may...
When a Speedwaaagh! Is unleashed, entire planets become Ork speedways. The xenos tear across battlefields at breakneck pace, blazing away at anything in their path. Soon enough, the once-proud ranks of the foe are reduced to mangled ruin and the Orks race onward towards the next battle.
The Deathwatch are a Chapter of Space Marines unlike any other. Promising individual agents are seconded from other Chapters and inducted into the service of the Inquisition’s Ordo Xenos. They are given rare and powerful equipment and weapons, and tasked with taking on the most deadly threats to the Imperium in daring missions, often comprising just a handful of these elite agents. Armageddon...

Enemies singled out for her judgement become the focus of her sisters' ire, the Adepta Sororitas striving furiously to purge these heretics lest they themselves be judged and punished by their intolerant Dogmata Superior.

Defilers are Daemon Engines possessed by abominable entities – towering creations that stomp across battlefields on piston-driven legs, slaying enemies with claws capable of cutting a Space Marine in half. Foes are not safe at range either, as the Defiler inflicts a trail of carnage with its cannon and other heavy weapons.

Knights Ruinator charge the enemy lines amidst searing torrents of cursed flame and salvoes of shocking terrorpulse missiles. Fixating on a single foe or enemy formation until it is utterly destroyed, then moving on to the next, these ghastly war engines burn and drill a trail of utter devastation for their comrades to follow into the very heart of their foes' position.
The Sylvaneth, when roused to anger, are wild-hearted masters of the swift ambush. Some resemble ghostly aelves, while others are much more akin to the trees of the forests whence they came. To face them is to face elemental vengeance itself.
The Daughters of Khaine assemble for war with a variety of deadly units, each more savage and cruel than the last. They fight as if taking part in a gladiatorial ritual, shedding blood in honour of the Murder God and dancing across the battlefield in a dazzling display of martial ability and athleticism.
Former denizens of the predatory forest known as the Gnarlwood, these cursed Sylvaneth were driven out by a cataclysmic disaster. Now they wander the realms in search of a cure for their supernatural malady, joining forces with any who will have them to annihilate the enemies of the Everqueen.
The ancient spirits of the Sylvaneth rise to defend the natural places of the Mortal Realms from interlopers who would see them defiled. In extreme cases, mighty Treelords appear in great numbers, pounding across the battlefield to slash and tear at their foes. At their feet, mighty Kurnoth Hunters rush forward with blade and bow to pick off weakened enemies and prevent their larger kin from...
Grove Guardians are the keepers of the sacred soulpod groves – fey wardens whose powers of rejuvenation can grant new life to fallen Sylvaneth. In battle, they slay their foes with deft strikes of their sickles or leaf-bladed shears while regenerating the life energy of harvested lamentiri within the amniotic pods of their genesis trees.
A Spitewing Flight is a fast-moving formation led by an Arch-Revenant, a winged forest spirit whose battle experience encompasses many long seasons. Gossamid Archers open hostilities with a rain of living arrows that eat through flesh, while Spiterider Lancers charge forth to slay their targets with magical spears and the ripping mandibles of their beloved dragonspite mounts. Finally, Revenant...
A Khainite Shadow Coven is assembled when Morathi-Khaine needs to dispose of an enemy host swiftly. They wheel a potent Cauldron of Blood into battle, surrounded by fearsome Sisters of Slaughter, and a pack of Khainite Shadowstalkers. They are accompanied by a Bloodwrack Medusa, whose malevolent gaze is capable of rendering nearby foes vulnerable to a well-aimed knife.
The Glaive is a super-heavy tank pattern based on the Fellblade, outfitted with a potent volkite carronade, a device of the Mechanicum whose design is said to have originated on Mars during the wars of the Age of Strife. When it fires, multiple targets are struck down by its ravening beam before even a portion of its energy is dissipated.
The role of Custodian Venatari is a high honour among their Legio and is reserved for those who have proven themselves successful in the Blood Games. Their domain resides among the rooftops and spires of the Imperial Palace and in the skies above any Custodian assault, overseeing and assessing potential threats below before swooping into a killing dive.
